HEAVY RAINS & HIGH WATER LEVELS MAKE FIELD CONDITIONS UNPLAYABLE
Green Bay, WI – The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons regret to announce that tonight’s baseball game against Appleton has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions at Joannes Stadium. With the heavy rain that fell overnight, combined with already high water levels, Joannes has experienced some flooding in the outfield, and although crews have been working all morning, the decision was made that they simply will not be able to have the field ready for tonight’s game.
There is no word yet on a makeup date for Friday’s contest, but as long as the weather cooperates, we should still have plenty of local baseball this weekend, with four Wisconsin State League games scheduled between Saturday and Sunday against the Lombard Orioles.
First pitch for Saturday’s game one is scheduled for 3:00 PM with the second game to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.
