The Blue Ribbons offense didn’t get going until the ninth inning on Thursday night, and it proved to be too little, too late, as they fell to the Menasha Macs by a score of 9-3.
Menasha jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, then tacked on single runs in the fourth and sixth to make it 6-0. They added three more in the top of the ninth, before Green Bay’s bats finally came alive.
The first five batters reached base safely for the Ribbons in the bottom of the ninth, as Bennett Frazer started off with a single and Liam Jones followed with a base on balls. Dylan Krumrei, Jayden Adrians and Ethan Habetler strung together three straight singles to make it 9-3, but that would be as close as the Ribbons would get.
The Ribbons have a day off on Friday, then head to Burlington on Saturday for a doubleheader against the West Allis Nationals with first pitch of game one scheduled for 4:00 PM.
