MACS EDGE RIBBONS IN PITCHERS BATTLE

The Blue Ribbons traveled to Menasha on Friday night to take on the Macs in a NEWBL contest originally scheduled for Thursday evening.

Menasha grabbed an early 1-0 lead with a run in the second, before Greater Green Bay responded with a run in the top of the third. Griffin Summers singled with one out and then came all the way around to score following an error on Macs shortstop Cal McGinnis.

The Macs reclaimed the lead with a run in their half of the third, then tacked on an insurance run for the final 3-1 margin of victory.

Bret Whiffen got the start for Greater Green Bay and went the distance, allowing just two earned runs over eight innings while striking out nine. Daisuke Sasaki led the offense, going 2-for-3, while Summers and Dylan Krumrei each reached base twice.
