The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons’ bats came alive on Friday night, but unfortunately they ran into a tough Kewaskum lineup, losing to the A’s by a score of 12-8.
Things got off to a rocky start, when Kewaskum got a three-run homer in the top of the first to take an early lead. The Ribbons got a run in the first and added two more in the second, but Kewaskum kept adding on, scoring single runs in the second, third and fourth.
Green Bay rallied back with a four-run fourth inning to briefly claim a 7-6 lead, but the A’s fired right back with a five-run fifth inning, to go back on top, 11-7.
The Ribbons got a solo home run from Dylan Krumrei in the sixth, but would get no closer, suffering their fourth straight loss. Krumrei was one of six Blue Ribbons with multi-hit games, with Griffin Summers contributing a pair of doubles to go along with two walks, Josh Gates chipping in a single and a double, and Tyler Blum, Jonah Landowski and Jacob Lacy each adding two hits.
Greater Green Bay is back in action on Saturday afternoon, with a Wisconsin State League doubleheader scheduled against the West Allis Nationals, starting at 3PM.
