RIBBONS FALL AGAIN

The Blue Ribbons dropped their third straight game on Wednesday night, and have now lost 13 of their last 15 after falling to Hortonville by a score of 4-1.

The Stars got the scoring started when they picked up a run in the second inning, then they added another in the sixth to take a 2-0 lead. Greater Green Bay responded with a run in their half of the sixth when Dylan Krumrei drew a one-out walk, before giving way to pinch-runner Tyler Blum. Blum moved to third on a sacrifice bunt, and then came in to score on a wild pitch, making it 2-1, but that would be as close as the Ribbons would get.

Hortonville tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh and shut down the Ribbons from there, finishing with the final 4-1 margin. Trevor Olmsted got the start and took the loss after walking eight and also hitting a pair of batters, as he wound up going six innings and giving up four runs.

After a day off on Thursday, the Ribbons will look to get things turned around this weekend, with four games over two days. They host the Kewaskum A’s in a Friday night doubleheader, then turn around and play two Wisconsin State League games against the West Allis Nationals on Saturday.
