The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons dropped their sixth game in a row, falling to the Sheboygan A’s on Tuesday night by a score of 5-4.
In a game that looked like a pitcher’s duel early on, the A’s finally broke through with four runs in the bottom half of the fifth, before the Ribbons got on the board with a run in the top of the sixth when shortstop Griffin Summers beat out a bunt single and then scored from first on a double by second baseman Noah Robinson.
Sheboygan added a run in the seventh, but Greater Green Bay made it a ballgame again in the eighth, as designated hitter Jayden Adrians launched a two-run home run, and then Trent Van Ess scored on Jacob Lacy single to pull to within a run at 5-4.
Unfortunately, that would be as close as the Blue Ribbons would get. They left a pair of runners on base in the eighth and then went down quietly in order in the ninth, dropping their record to 4-6 on the season.
After an off day on Wednesday, the Ribbons will travel down the road to Appleton on Thursday, as their lengthy road trip continues on with a NEWBL contest against the Legends, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 PM.
