The Ribbons dropped the first two games in their four-game series with Lombard, losing game one by a score of 21-0, before falling in game two by a score of 11-1.
Much like Friday night’s game, the Ribbons fell behind early in game one, as the Orioles put up eight runs in the bottom of the first. But unlike Friday night, Greater Green Bay was unable to claw their way back in, as Lombard kept their foot on the gas, scoring six more in the second, two in the third and five in the fourth.
The Blue Ribbons offense managed just two hits, with Jonah Landowski and Trent Van Ess collecting first inning singles, but the bats were quiet from there until the mercy rule went into effect after five innings.
Game two was slightly more competitive, as Noah Robinson got the start on the mound and worked the first three innings without allowing a run.
The Ribbons briefly held a lead, as Jeremy Laffoon singled to center to drive in Tyler Blum in the top of the fourth, but Lombard responded by putting up five runs in their half of the inning and they never looked back, tacking on six more in the fifth as they cruised to an 11-1 win.
Hunter Petska collected the only other Blue Ribbons hit in the game, as the Blue Ribbons record fell to 4-3 on the season.
