BANDITS KNOCK OFF RIBBONS

With many of their starters getting the night off, the Blue Ribbons fell behind earlier and couldn’t rally all they way back, as they suffered their first loss of the season, losing to the Little Chute Bandits by a score of 14-7.

Little Chute plated eight runs in the first inning, but Greater Green Bay tried to climb their way back into the game, with Jonah Landowski launching his first home run of the season, a three-run blast in the third inning to make it 8-3.

The Bandits got two in the fourth, but the Ribbons answered with three in the bottom of the inning. Daisuke Sasaki drove in Jeremy Laffoon, and Tyler Blum tripled to bring home Zach Ziesmer, then came in to score when the throw got past the third baseman.

The Blue Ribbons added another run in the fifth to pull within three runs at 10-7, but that would be as close as they would get, as Little Chute pulled away with a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh for the final 14-7 margin.

Greater Green Bay heads out on the road for 11 games now, starting with a four-game series in Illinois against the Lombard Orioles. They’ll return home on Monday, June 14th for a re-match with Little Chute.
