OFFENSE KEYS 10-8 VICTORY IN HOME FINALE

The Blue Ribbons wrapped up their 2020 home schedule on Thursday night with a 10-8 win over the Menasha Macs in NEWBL tournament play at Joannes Stadium.

The Ribbons got things rolling in the first with three runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Zach Ziesmer to drive in Griffin Summers and Luke Gajewski.

Green Bay added a run in the third, but Menasha finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth, cutting the lead in half, but the Ribbons opened things back up with a five-run fifth inning, before tacking on another in the sixth to take a 10-2 lead.

Menasha tried to mount a late rally, putting up four runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth, but Summers moved from shortstop to the mound to pitch in relief, and retired the final six batters he faced to preserve the victory for Green Bay.
