GREEN BAY SPLITS WITH KENOSHA TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON

The Blue Ribbons wrapped up regular season play by splitting their doubleheader with Kenosha on Sunday, winning game one by a score of 6-5, before dropping game two by a score of 5-3

Game one saw the Blue Ribbons claim a lead and never look back, scoring a run in the first, three in the second and two in the third to go up 6-1.

The big blast came off the bat of Dawson Schmidt, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in. Center fielder Easton Arendt also had a big day at the plate, collecting three hits to go along with three stolen bases and two runs scored.

Matthew Eberhardt got the start and went two innings, allowing just one run before turning things over to newcomer Branson Kent, who worked the final five frames to pick up the win.

In game two, Green Bay again grabbed a lead behind starter Riker Blahnik, with a home run from third baseman Drew Siudzinski and an RBI single from catcher Ian Salvesen, but the Kings answered back with four runs off of reliever Ian Aoki, and Green Bay could only tack on one more for the final 5-3 margin of victory.

Salvesen recorded a pair of hits for the Blue Ribbons, who will now take the next five days to rest up before heading to Oshkosh for the State Tournament next weekend.
