The Blue Ribbons offense was again quiet in Sheboygan on Wednesday night, as Green Bay fell to 21-16 on the season with a 5-1 loss.
The Ribbons grabbed an early lead on an RBI single from Wilson Zuck that scored Boone Kirst, but the A’s responded with two in the third, two in the fifth and one in the seventh for the final margin of victory.
Second baseman Payton Kohnle and first baseman Boone Kirst paced the offense with a pair of hits each, and starting pitcher Benje Hencke struck out ten batters over five innings.
The loss means that barring a major Sheboygan collapse that would involve the A’s dropping their final four NEWBL games, Green Bay will now have to win the NEWBL round robin tournament next week to qualify for the NEWBL Championship series the following week if they hope to defend their NEWBL title.
