BLUE RIBBONS SHUTOUT LEGENDS

TWO PITCHERS COMBINE ON ONE-HITTER

The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons picked up a “W” on Monday night as Grant Frazer and Cameran Crawford combined to shutout the Appleton Legends on just one hit, as the Ribbons picked up a 2-0 victory.

Frazer got the start for Green Bay and earned the win after working the first five innings, allowing just a two-out single in the third inning while striking out seven batters and walking just one.

The Ribbons’ bats were quiet early as well, but they were finally able to break through in the bottom of the fifth, when second baseman Matt Bald led off the inning with a single and came around to score on a sac fly from third baseman Jayden Adrians.

They added to their lead thanks to some shoddy Appleton defense, when Yuta Kudoh, who singled earlier in the inning, came in to score on an error by the Legends shortstop to make it 2-0.

The two runs would prove to be plenty, as Cameron Crawford came on in relief of Frazer and proceeded to toss two scoreless frames of relief to lock down the save.
