RIBBONS TAKE PAIR ON SATURDAY

Pitching ruled the day on Saturday, as the Blue Ribbons beat Kenosha 3-2, then shutout Lombard 3-0.

Trailing 2-1 in game one, Green Bay rallied to tie the game in the seventh, then took the lead in the eighth, and Landon Raygo shut the door from there to earn the win.

Easton Arendt started for the Ribbons and went 4.1 innings, before turning things over to Raygo, who worked the final 3.2 innings without giving up a run.

Boone Kirst paced the offense, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Jake Petasek and Eason Hurd each singled and walked.

Game two was all Owen Deprez, as the veteran left-hander shut down Lombard, allowing just two hits while striking out seven in a 3-0 victory.

Deprez, who has already racked up 23 strikeouts this season, extended his scoreless innings streak to 14 to start the year and picked up his second win of 2025.

Second baseman Jake Petasek went 2-for-3 with a walk, while shortstop George McIntyre singled and drew a pair of walks.

The Blue Ribbons have two more games in Sheboygan on Sunday, as they take on the Addison Braves and the West Allis Nationals as the Wisconsin State League’s Fifth Game Challenge continues.
