GREATER GREEN BAY OUTSLUGS APPLETON IN 10-6 WIN

After splitting a doubleheader with Kenosha yesterday, the Blue Ribbons continued to swing hot bats at Joannes Stadium on Monday night, putting up ten runs on 11 hits as they defeated the Appleton Legends by a score of 10-6.

The Blue Ribbons took an early lead, plating two runs in the bottom of the first, but the Legends put up a run in the third and two more in the top of the fourth to briefly move on top, 3-2.

Greater Green Bay responded by with Jake Fietz delivering an RBI double as part of a four-run bottom of the fourth, as the Ribbons moved back on top, 6-3.

Appleton added two more runs in the fifth to close within a run again, but the Ribbons answered with a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 7-5.

The Legends again pulled within one, when they added a run in the top of the eighth, but the Blue Ribbons put the game away with three runs in the bottom of the frame, giving themselves some breathing room before Hunter Petska closed things out in the ninth to preserve the victory.
