BLUE RIBBONS GET BACK IN WIN COLUMN

5-2 WIN SNAPS LOSING STREAK

The Blue Ribbons snapped their nine-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon with a 5-2 win over the Branch Blaze.

After picking up a run in the second, the Ribbons added another in the fourth when shortstop Ethan Habetler drove in catcher Hunter Petska with an RBI double.

They continued to add on in the fifth when a Zach Ziesmer sac fly drove in Tyler Blum, and a Charlie Stenson single brought home Jacob Lacy as the Ribbons extend their lead to 4-0.

The Blaze tried to fight back, scoring single runs in the fifth and seventh innings, but Greater Green Bay picked up an insurance run in the sixth.

Starting pitcher Lucas Frutig went seven strong innings, allowing just two runs, en route to earning the win. Zachary Bruce came on to work the final two scoreless frames to earn the save.
