The Blue Ribbons struggles continued on Saturday afternoon as they dropped both ends of their doubleheader with Burlington, losing game one by a score of 4-1, before being defeated 9-3 in the second contest of the day.
Burlington jumped out to a quick lead in the first inning, plating two runs in the first inning, then added two more in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead over the Ribbons.
Greater Green Bay finally got on the board in the sixth, chipping away at the lead when first baseman Sam Kohnle scored on an RBI double by catcher Jake Berg. The Blue Ribbons brought the tying run to the plate after Matt McNabb was hit by a pitch, but couldn’t cash in.
They had one more chance to rally in the seventh, when they loaded the bases with one out, but a strikeout and a groundout to second ended the threat and the ballgame.

Game two saw the Blue Ribbons fall behind early once again, as Burlington scored four runs before Greater Green Bay even got to swing the bats.
The Blue Ribbons pulled to within 4-2 on solo home runs from catcher Lane Sobieski and designated hitter Zach Ziesmer in the second and third innings respectively, but the Barons answered right back with two runs of their own in the top of the fourth.
Burlington extended their lead with two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh. Green Bay added one more in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn’t nearly enough as they went down in defeat by a final score of 9-3, dropping their ninth consecutive game.
