RIBBONS FALL TO APPLETON

FOUR-RUN SEVENTH SENDS GREATER GREEN BAY DOWN IN DEFEAT

The Blue Ribbons dropped their sixth in a row on Thursday night, as they were edged by the Appleton Legends by a score of 6-5.

The Legends plated single runs in the second and fifth innings but Green Bay tied things up in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run by second baseman Dylan Krumrei.

The Ribbons took the lead in the seventh when Jacob Lacy singled to right to drive in Tyler Blum. They tacked on to their lead when Griffin Summers stole home plate, and Lacy came in to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jake Fietz, making it 5-2.

Unfortunately, the Legends responded with four runs in the bottom of the seventh off of reliever Hunter Hockenbrock and the Blue Ribbons were unable to mount another comeback, dropping their season record to 6-9.
