ORIOLES FINISH SWEEP OF BLUE RIBBONS

SUNDAY DOUBLEHEADER ENDS WITH NO-HITTER

Greater Green Bay dropped below .500 on the season as they lost a pair of games to the Lombard Orioles on Sunday afternoon.

Game one saw the Orioles plate a run in the second, before they broke things open with a five-run third inning against starter Cameran Crawford.

The Blue Ribbons got a spark in the bottom of the fourth, when left fielder Eli Kramer blasted a home run to right to make it 6-1, but Lombard answered with a run in the fifth, before adding four more in the seventh, as they rolled to an 11-1 win.

Game two was all about Lombard pitching, as three hurlers – Andres Reaume, Mike Sullivan and Andrew Zapka – combined to no-hit the Blue Ribbons.

The Orioles got three runs in the second off of starter Jett Thielke and that would prove to be more than enough, as the only Greater Green Bay baserunners would come courtesy of four walks in an 8-0 loss.
