FOUR PITCHERS COMBINE TO SHUTOUT STARS

Four Greater Green Bay pitchers combined to shutout the Hortonville Stars on Wednesday night, allowing just one hit over seven innings as the Blue Ribbons picked up a 3-0 win.

The Blue Ribbons scored the games first runs in the third inning when right fielder Tyler Blum and shortstop Griffin Summers both reached on infield singles and first baseman Jacob Lacy roped a base hit to right to drive in Blum. Second baseman Matt Bald followed with a sacrifice fly, driving in Summers to make it 2-0.

Greater Green Bay tacked on one more in the fifth when Blum drew a one-out walk and then came around to score on a base hit by Bald.

That would be all the offense the Blue Ribbons pitching staff would need, as they allowed just three Hortonville baserunners all game.

Mitchell Bendickson got the start and went four innings, striking out a pair, and picked up the win. Zack Watzka and Grant Frazer each followed with a scoreless inning of relief and Jayden Adrians set down the side in order in the seventh to earn the save.
