SHEBOYGAN TOPS GREATER GREEN BAY, 4-2

The Blue Ribbons dropped back to .500 on the season as they fell to the Sheboygan A’s by a score of 4-2 at Wildwood Park on Tuesday night.

Greater Green Bay got on the board right away in the first when leadoff man Griffin Summers reached on an error and then scored from first on an RBI double by first baseman Sam Kohnle. Kohnle moved to third on a flyout by Matt Bald and then came in to score on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.

Jett Thielke took the mound for the Blue Ribbons and was dominant early on, not allowing a hit until the sixth inning.

Thielke would wind up leaving after six innings with the game tied, but the bullpen struggled to throw strikes, issuing four walks in the seventh as Sheboygan moved in front, 3-2, without the benefit of a base hit.

The Blue Ribbons offense couldn’t manage much against the A’s pitching duo of Eric Schmitz and Ryan Fields and the A’s tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth before Fields closed the door in the ninth.
