GREEN BAY SWEEPS KENOSHA WITH TWO MORE WINS ON SUNDAY

The Blue Ribbons picked up two more Wisconsin State League victories on Sunday afternoon, defeating Kenosha by a score of 12-2 in game one, before cruising to a 6-1 win in game two.

Green Bay picked right up where they left off yesterday, putting up seven runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by home runs from Ethan Habetler and Liam Jones, as the Ribbons sent 12 batters to the plate.

The Blue Ribbons added three more runs in the second to go up 10-0 when Noah Robinson doubled to drive in a run and Daisuke Sasaki added an RBI single.

Kenosha finally got on the board with two runs in the top of the fifth, but Green Bay answered with two of their own in the bottom half of the fifth to end the contest.

Starting pitcher Blake Wallenfang worked all five innings, allowing just two runs while striking out three to pick up the win.

The Blue Ribbons grabbed an early lead in game two as well, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second when Lane Sobieski and Jacob Lacy both scored on a double by designate hitter Hunter Petska.

They broke the game open from there, plating four runs in the fifth, and Tyler Blum held Kenosha’s bats in check, allowing just one run over six innings of work to pick up the win.

Green Bay’s defense helped Blum out with some sparkling plays in the field, including a diving catch in center by Jonah Landowski and incredibly athletic play by shortstop Griffin Summers to force a runner at second.

Lacy paced the offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Sobieski also scored a pair of runs.
