BULLPEN FALTERS IN LOSS TO MENASHA

Starting pitcher Bret Whiffen allowed just one run over four innings of work on Tuesday nights, but the Menasha bats woke up later in the game as they came back to defeat the Blue Ribbons by a score of 8-5.

Green Bay grabbed a 3-1 lead in the third on RBI singles from Trent Van Ess, Tucker Kohl and Noah Robinson, but the Macs added a run in the fifth, then put up three in the sixth to move in front.

The Ribbons tied things up again in the top of the seventh, when Liam Jones scored on a single by Ethan Habetler, and Tyler Blum raced home on a wild pitch to make it 5-5, but Menasha responded with three runs in their half of the seventh for the final margin of victory.

Robinson and Blum each finished with two hits for the Blue Ribbons as they finished their road trip with a 3-3 record.

Green Bay returns home on Wednesday night to begin a six-game homestand when they host the Sheboygan A’s.
