The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons returned home on Monday night to start an eight-game homestand, but they dropped their opener, falling to Little Chute by a score of 6-0 in a non-league game.
Grant Maus got the start for the Ribbons and kept his team in the game, going 4.1 innings, allowing just one earned run before giving way to the bullpen. The Bandits tacked on three more runs in the eighth however and the Blue Ribbons offense never got things going.
Leadoff hitter Trent Van Ess was the lone bright spot for Green Bay, reaching base all four times, going 3-for-3, drawing a base on balls and stealing a base. Shortstop Griffin Summers collected the other Blue Ribbons base hit in the game.
The homestand continues on Tuesday night, as the Ribbons welcome the Appleton Legends to town for a NEWBL showdown with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 PM.
