GREEN BAY HANGS ON FOR 4-3 WIN

The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons moved to 2-0 on the young season, as they scored three runs in the seventh and then hung on, despite a late Pulaski rally, to score a 4-3 victory over the Reds.

After four scoreless innings, both teams plated a run in the fifth, with Griffin Summers driving in Tyler Blum.

The score stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh when Adam Gutschow doubled to drive in Blum and Jonah Landowski, and then Josh Gates followed with a single that scored Gutschow.

Pulaski made things close, scoring two runs in the ninth as they started the inning with three straight singles, but Tony Marquardt shut them down from there, retiring the next three batters, stranding the tying run and preserving the victory.

Starting pitcher Nick Klavekoske went seven innings, allowing just one run while striking out 12 batters to earn the win, and Marquardt picked up the save.

The Ribbons are off for the holiday weekend, but return to action on Tuesday when they open Wisconsin State League play against Sheboygan at Joannes Stadium.
