RIBBONS ANNOUNCE FIRST BATCH OF 2021 SIGNINGS

ZIESMER, FRUTIG, JONES SET TO RETURN

The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons announced their first batch of signings on Wednesday as they prepare for the 2021 season.

Former Denmark High School right-hander Lucas Frutig signed a contract to return for his second season, after appearing in nine games a season ago. In a team-high 35.1 innings of work, Frutig posted a record of 2-3, starting six of the nine games he worked in.

Lefty Liam Jones will also be back with the Blue Ribbons in 2021 after signing his letter of intent. The former Preble Hornet made eight appearances for Greater Green Bay last season, including one start, striking out ten over 16.1 innings.

The offense added some pop as well, with the return of Anoka-Ramsey first baseman Zach Ziesmer, who also signed his letter of intent. A graduate of West DePere, Ziesmer played in 27 games for the Blue Ribbons last season, and tied for the team lead in home runs.

In addition to the three returning Ribbons players, Greater Green Bay also signed a contract for 2021 with infielder Daisuke Sasaki. The 22-year-old from Japan can play both second base and shortstop and will be following in the footsteps of Yuta Kudoh, who spent last season with the Blue Ribbons.
