RIBBONS BATS SILENCED BY LEGENDS

The Blue Ribbons dropped into second place in the NEWBL with a rough 2-1 loss in Appleton on Tuesday night.

Starting hurler Landon Raygo pitched a gem, before running out of gas in the eighth, but the Green Bay bats started their mid-season break early, managing just four hits, as they fell to 5-2 in NEWBL play.

Raygo went 7.1 innings, allowing just one run, while striking out 13 batters before giving way to Easton Arendt, who took the loss in relief.

Brayden Pleau and Bryan Gerbers each doubled and walked, while Boone Kirst drew a pair of walks for Green Bay, but the offense managed little else in defeat.

After having five of the last eight days off due to rainouts and scheduled off days, the Blue Ribbons take on Manitowoc in a non-league game at Joannes Stadium on Wednesday night to wrap up the first half of the season, then take another five days off before starting the second half at home against Menasha on July 8th.
