GREEN BAY SECURES WIN AGAINST MENASHA

By GameChanger Media – The Blue Ribbons were victorious against Menasha Macs 8-3 on Friday at Joanees Stadium.

A ground out by James Bornick put Green Bay on the board in the bottom of the third. Menasha jumped into the lead in the top of the fourth when Quade Thompson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Ty Carlson doubled, scoring two runs.

Green Bay jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Eli Frank singled, scoring one run, Brendan Willadsen hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Wilson Zuck singled, scoring two runs.

Allen Leitner earned the win for the Blue Ribbons. The righty surrendered five hits and three runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Griffen Klein took the loss for Menasha.

Austin Grube tossed two innings of shutout ball for Green Bay in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out five.

Green Bay tallied nine hits in the game. Wilson Zuck, Brendan Willadsen, and Brady LaViolette each collected two hits for Green Bay. Zuck and Willadsen each drove in three runs. LaViolette led Green Bay with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game.
