The Blue Ribbons knocked off Lombard and Addison on Sunday, helping them to finish the weekend 3-0 in the Wisconsin State League Challenge.

In game one, Lombard took an early lead, but Green Bay answered with three runs in the top of the third, highlighted by a James Bornick RBI single.

The Orioles clawed back with a run in their half of the third, but the Ribbons clung to their one-run lead into the seventh. From there, they tacked on three insurance runs, for the final 6-2 margin.

Startng pitcher Kaden Krueger picked up the win after going the first four innings, while Benje Hencke and Reece Piontek shut things down the rest of the way. Shortstop Payton Kohnle went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, while Bornick and Jake Petasek each added two hits of their own.

In game two of the day, Owen Deprez dominated on the mound, and the Blue Ribbons offense put up 12 runs on 13 hits as they cruised to a 12-2 ten-run victory in five innings.

Right fielder Bryan Gerbers paced the offense, going 3-for-4, while Brady LaViolette, James Bornick and Landen Lozier added two hits each.

Green Bay returns to play on Wednesday as they travel to Menasha before heading home on Thursday night to take on the Greenville Stars.
