The Green Bay Blue Ribbons extended their winning streak to five games with a pair of wins over Kenosha on Sunday afternoon, improving their record on the season to 14-10.
After falling behind 5-0 in the first inning in game one, the Ribbons battled back with three runs in the second, keyed by RBI triples from Ethan Habetler and Tyler Blum. They tacked on another in the fifth on an RBI single by Trent Van Ess, but still trailed 5-4 heading into the seventh.
A leadoff single by first baseman Jeremy Laffoon was followed by a walk to Blum, and catcher Steven Russell came up clutch with a one-out single to drive in the tying run. Blum would scampered home with the go-ahead run a batter later, and Eli Frank closed things out with his third scoreless inning to preserve the 6-5 win.
In game two, Green Bay again fell behind 2-1 after two innings, before scoring three in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth, highlighted by Noah Robinson‘s third home run of the season.
Kenosha tried to claw their way back, scoring two in the fifth and two more in the sixth, but Eli Frank again came on to close out game two, giving the Ribbons a 9-6 victory.
