MACS ROLL OVER RIBBONS

The Blue Ribbons dropped their first NEWBL game of the season on Friday night, falling to Menasha by a score of 20-8.

Green Bay fell behind early, but rallied back with three runs in their half of the first to take a 3-2 lead. Home runs by designated hitter Noah Robinson and second baseman Zach Hanson staked the Ribbons to a 7-4 lead after five innings, but Menasha’s offense came to life late.

The Macs put up crooked numbers in both the seventh and the ninth innings, scoring eight runs in the seventh and six more in the ninth to turn a close game into a blowout.

Wyatt Wiitanen, Steven Russell, Eli Frank, Griffin Summer and Matt Perry each had multi-hit games, with Perry driving in half of Green Bay’s eight runs.

The Ribbons are back in action on Saturday night, as they open up a three-game series with the Burlington Barons at Joannes Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 PM.
