RIBBONS ANNOUNCE FRONT OFFICE UPDATES FOR 2022

The Blue Ribbons announced several front office changes in preparation for the 2022 baseball season, with Phil Ducat taking over as Team President, Stewart Larsen gaining the title of General Manager, and Bill Morgan joining the organization as Assistant GM.

Ducat, a fixture in the Green Bay baseball community, has a great passion for baseball at Joannes Park, having played previously for the Blue Ribbons, Sultans and Billy’s. Following his playing career, he turned to umpiring, and has spent the past 20+ seasons working high school, legion, college and amateur games in the area.

He will be replacing Tony Freeman, who announced his retirement at the end of the 2021 campaign, following three successful seasons as President of the Blue Ribbons (formerly DePere Dodgers), and Ducat looks forward to leading the Ribbons in a winning tradition, with an emphasis on developing athletes in the Greater Green Bay area.

Like Ducat, Larsen also is quite familiar to long-time fans at Joannes, having played for the Billy’s and the DePere Dodgers in the past, as well as other local teams.

Larsen served last season as the team’s de facto General Manager, working side-by-side with Manager Anthony Sottile to build the Blue Ribbons’ roster, signing several exciting newcomers, including Player of the Year Trent Van Ess, and Pitcher of the Year Jonah Landowski.

The behind-the-scenes work that Larsen has done for the Ribbons has been invaluable, including fundraising, media relations, and coordinating with other teams to create Green Bay’s schedule each season, and his work has not gone unnoticed, with the ballclub giving him the official title of GM in 2022.

Morgan, another familiar face on the Green Bay baseball scene, worked as the President of the Green Bay Billy’s for two seasons from 2000-2001. He’s coached at the Freshman, JV and Varsity levels at Preble High School, and also has served as Coach and Business Manager for the Green Bay Shockers Legion team for the past ten years.

The Blue Ribbons would like to congratulate all three gentlemen on their new roles with the team, and look forward to an exciting 2022 season on the horizon.
