The Blue Ribbons notched a second consecutive victory on Tuesday night, edging the Sheboygan A’s by a score of 7-6.
After Sheboygan took an early lead, Green Bay scored two in the second on an Ethan Habetler double, and added two more in the third when left fielder Trent Van Ess tripled to drive in center fielder Jonah Landowski, and then scored on an RBI groundout from third baseman Jayden Adrians.
The A’s tied the game with a three-run fourth, then briefly took a lead when they added another run in the fifth, but every time they punched, the Ribbons punched right back, scoring two runs in the bottom half of the fifth, when Adrians and right fielder Josh Gates both crossed the plate to give Green Bay a 6-5 lead.
Sheboygan plated another run in the top of the sixth to tie the game once again, but Green Bay again added a run in their half of the inning when shortstop Griffin Summers walked, moved to third on a Landowski double, and came in to score on an error.
The Ribbons bullpen locked things down from there, with Noah Robinson tossing two scoreless innings of relief, before Alec Danen shut down the side in order to preserve the victory.
Green Bay has the next two days off now, before hitting the road for a six-game road trip. They return home to Joannes Stadium on Wednesday, July 21st for a re-match with Sheboygan, then host Denmark on Friday, July 23rd for their Christmas in July game.
