The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons announced the signings of four additional players to their roster this week, adding catchers Hunter Petska and Isaiah Robinson, infielder Bret Whiffen and pitcher Anthony Sottile for the 2021 season.
Petska, a 2020 Preble graduate, spent last summer with the Blue Ribbons, driving in a pair of runs, while also scoring four in ten games as a backup catcher. He also saw limited action as a pitcher, working five innings over three outings.
Robinson, the younger brother of Blue Ribbons outfielder Noah Robinson, also is a 2020 graduate, who saw time behind the plate at Green Bay East, and currently attends college at UW-Oshkosh.
Whiffen, another 2020 alumn, was a four-year starter at Green Bay Southwest High School, and is currently playing his college ball at William Penn University in Iowa, where he is listed as both a second baseman and a pitcher.
Sottile, an outfielder and pitcher with the Marian Sabres, is the veteran of the bunch, having pitched for the DePere Dodgers during the 2019 season, before spending last season playing in the NEWBL with the Menasha Macs
The Blue Ribbons 2021 season gets underway on May 21st, with their home opener scheduled for Wednesday, May 26th against the Appleton Legends.
