The Blue Ribbons were at Joannes stadium for their last home game of the year on Tuesday
night. After losing to Menasha on Monday, the Ribbons needed to beat the Appleton Legends to keep their state playoff dreams alive.
The Blue Ribbons watched the lead slip away from them at the very start of the game as
Appleton would score early and often. The Ribbons would struggle to get to get anything going and eventually found themselves with a 10-0 loss.
James Bornick led Green Bay with two hits in three at bats. Ethan Habetler got himself on
base twice by way of a single and a walk. Noah Robinson recorded three strikeouts in a lengthy three and two thirds of an inning relief outing.
The Blue Ribbons have just one game left given that they have likely missed out on the Final
Four in Appleton. They will play the Kewaskum A’s in Appleton tonight at 8:30 PM. For anyone
who attended a Ribbons game at the Jo and for all of our sponsors, we thank you for your
support and for another great season of Blue Ribbons baseball. Make sure to join us again next
summer.
